Petworld Castlebar is Open

Petworld Castlebar is open daily from Monday 13th April from 12pm-4pm – for your pet essential needs.

As pet owners we understand the needs of keeping your family safe while looking after your pets. With over 1 million pets in Ireland and over 450,000 dogs we believe Petworld has an important role to play in keeping pet food and supplies available in an environment that is safe for our staff and for our customers. We are here to serve the needs of our customers.

On Monday 13th April, we will reopen the Petworld Department located inside Horkans Garden Centre Turlough, Castlebar. We understand this store plays a vital role for our pet community in County Mayo, and we are here to make sure your pets are kept fed, healthy and happy during this time. Petworld Castlebar will be open 7 days from 12pm – 4pm for your pet essentials only.

As agreed within the recent government guidelines all households are allowed to travel to the local dog food store to ensure their pets have the essentials that they need. Horkans Garden Centre department will remain closed and purchase of non essential pet items will not be permitted.

“We want to make access to your pet supplies as easy and as safe as possible for you.”

John Horkan CEO

We thank you for your patience in following our strict safety practices when visiting our store. We would like to reassure you that we have taken every step possible to provide a safe retail environment with the highest possible standards of cleanliness, in line with the advice and guidelines from the HSE.

Steps we have taken to provide a safe retail environment for our customers and our staff:

We continue to maintain the highest cleanliness standards in line with advice and guidelines from the HSE. All of our staff have been trained in good hygiene practices. All staff are using hand sanitisers and washing their hands with soap and water at least once per hour. Till staff and delivery operatives are making both hand and work environment hygiene an absolute priority.

Counters, phones, keyboards, till and card machines are cleaned and disinfected with antibacterial wipes and sprays constantly throughout the day. Our staff are fully briefed on the guidelines of social distancing. All breaks and lunches have been separated and staff meetings have been postponed for the foreseeable future.  Their safety is our priority.

Steps we would expect store visitors to follow:

We also ask that only one family member comes into the shop at a time to minimise social contact.  We have provided a hand sanitising station at our store entrance and ask that all customers use them on entering our store.  When speaking with a team member or at the tills, please respect the 2metre distancing rule. You will see 2 metre queue lines on the floor. We have fitted protective screens at the till areas. In line with recommended practice we are now only accepting card or contactless payment methods of payment, to avoid hand-to-hand contact. Contactless payment limit has been increased to €50.

We understand that many of you have concerns about meeting your pets essential needs whilst keeping yourself and your families safe. We want you to know, we are here for you and your pets, and it is important to us that you feel safe and comfortable visiting our store.

As always, you can shop online from the comfort of your own home at www.petworlddirect.ie and we will have your order delivered straight to your door. If we can be of any other help or support for you and your pets please get in touch with your local Petworld store.
